AGP Master 1WS Write
Common Options : Enabled, Disabled
Details
In most motherboards, the AGP bus-mastering device waits for at least 2 wait states or
AGP clock cycles before it starts a write transaction. This BIOS feature
allows you to reduce the delay to only 1 wait state or clock cycle.
So, for
better AGP write performance, enable this option. Disable it only if you
experience weird graphical anomalies like wireframe effects and pixel artifacts after enabling this option.
Note, however, that some motherboards apparently have an AGP
master write latency of 0. So, enabling the AGP Master 1WS Write in
this case will actually increase the latency by 1 wait state and
reduce performance. Although that's really quite unlikely, that's
what their manuals say.
Therefore, check your motherboard manual to see if the
manufacturer has implemented the first (and more common)
interpretation of the AGP Master 1WS Write BIOS feature or the second
one. Either way, the lower the AGP master write latency, the higher
the write performance of the AGP bus. |
