Zalman!

As all you ARP readers would have known from our Zalman CNPS3100 review that we received two of Zalman's latest offerings. The cooler we are going to review today is their latest CNPS5000- Plus cooler

The CNPS5000-Plus is yet another product based on their very innovative Flower Heat Sink design. And in line with their 'Computer Noise Prevention System' (CNPS) ideology, the CNPS5000-Plus is supposed to bring high performance of the likes of the GlobalWins and the Alphas, without the noise.

In our recent review of the Zalman CNPS3100 cooler, their CNPS technology performed quite well and was totally quiet. In fact, the cooler was

so quiet that the only audible noise was the spinning hard disk!

"The CNPS5000 was developed as a result of the Change CPU Cooler (CCC) Project at Zalman Tech. Co. Ltd. It is the quietest and highest performing CPU Cooler manufactured to date to our knowledge."

Wow, more acronyms from Zalman. :D Well, I guess the CCC project's main purpose is to somehow change the market's mindset of how a heat sink should perform better. Instead of faster spinning but noisier fans, Zalman wants you to consider their idea of quieter fans but more efficient heat sinks! I guess they have a good point there. One cannot just rely on faster spinning fans to make coolers perform better.
