| The ViewQuest AmazingCam VQ680
4-in-1 Digital Camera

Self Portrait
Most users will shy away if they were to glance at just the box
of the AmazingCam which retails at RM 539 (USD 142) at the time of this
review. But there's more than meets the eye; for what you have
here is the heart of the popular Intel Pocket PC camera... well,
almost.
For your information, ViewQuest is not new in the PC camera
industry. In fact, according to sources, ViewQuest is the largest
PC camera manufacturer in Taiwan. They are also the OEM
manufacturer for the award-winning PC cameras from Kodak and
Intel. Therefore, there are quite a few similarities between the
Intel's Pocket PC Camera and this ViewQuest AmazingCam. In fact,
they are the same inside.
BTW, we actually have a review of another version of the
AmazingCam - the ViewQuest
AmazingCam 630 4-in-1 digital camera. So what does this
new baby have got to offer? 1024x768 maximum resolution
support! Is it that fantastic or what? Well, read on and find out.
ViewQuest Or Not???
At first glance, it's hard to know whether the AmazingCam is
manufactured by ViewQuest or not. There's no mention of ViewQuest
on the box nor, as you'll find out later, in the manual or
anywhere else! But if you are look carefully at the camera which
is revealed through a transparent plastic cover, you'll see a
ViewQuest sticker. A closer look at the bottom of the camera
finally reveals a label that tells it all.
