| Introduction
As a software developer, there are times where I am called to
develop mobile data capture programs so that the client is able to
perform data entry services in a remote location. But even if the
program is able to capture a magnitude of different types of data,
the client would almost certainly ask you this - "Can I print
that out?"
That usually leaves me kind of stumped. After all, it's not
very easy to find a lightweight printer that is as easy to carry
around as your Pocket PC. Until recently, the only portable
printer that I knew of was one of those Canon BJsˇK printers but
even those weren't exactly portable.
But guess what happened recently? Well, the SiPix Pocket
Printer A6 happened.

The Pocket Printer A6 is a monochrome thermal printer that
measures 150mm x 109mm x 25.4mm. This puts it a tad bit larger
than the average Pocket PC but still small enough to fit into a
bag or pocket. And for those of you who are wondering, yes, this
thing doesn't print on A4-sized paper. Like the name states, it's
designed for A6-wide paper.
I say A6-wide paper because the printer is actually designed to
take in either sheets of A6 paper or a roll of paper that is 105mm
wide. The printer can be either powered by the included power
adapter or four AA-sized batteries. |
