The 1m thermal probe is long enough for most users, even with a full tower casing. The display is big and clear but not very visible in darker environments. The LCD display can be placed anywhere. You can make a hole in your casing to fit the display or use the included stand and place it on top of the casing. If you don't have any equipment to drill or cut the face plate, you will be happy to know that the LCD display fits perfectly into an empty 3 1/2 inch bay.
