| The Psion 56K Travel Modem

When you first bought your spanking new Pocket PC, you were excited when you
read on the back of the box that you can directly check your e-mail, and surf the
Net
with your Pocket PC and a modem. But then, a few days and a few phone calls later,
reality sets in and you find out that :-
- Your Pocket PC has no CompactFlash slot (ok you should have seen this on the box
already) and you can only use an expensive proprietary modem, which is
nowhere to be found! This is in the case of the Cassiopeia EM500.
- You need to buy an expansion sleeve for your Pocket PC so that it can accept
CF (CompactFlash) cards but no one can give you an exact date on when you can get the sleeve.
As in the case of the famous Compaq iPAQ.
You want to surf with your Pocket PC, and you want to do it SOON. So, what
do you do? Well, pick up a Psion 56k Travel Modem from your local retailer, of
course. Now, while totally usable as a modem, this battery (sic) powered modem
might not suit everyone's taste.
