What You See Is What You Get

Out of curiosity, I referred to the Encarta Pocket Dictionary for the definition of "panache". And so, here what it means :-

    panache n
        1.
dashing style
        2. helmet plume

I hope they were using the first definition when naming PDA Panache... although I kind of like the second definition too! LOL! PDA with style. Let's see if the product lives up to its name.

Getting the PDA Panache Trio-1 Triple Function Stylus was very easy with just a simple order from the PDA Panache website at http://www.pdapanache.com. Oh, by the way, it costs US$21.95 and here's what I got :-

And here's the stylus out of its packaging.

Sporting the colours sliver and black, it looks just like any other quality pen. It is a little heavy, which is great for me, but it may be a little too heavy for some. Unfortunately, the weight of the stylus isn't well balanced so it always feels like the pen wants to slip away.

Also, the black coloured part of the stylus isn't made of rubber. I am not really sure what it's made of but it provides some grip when holding the stylus. The overall 'feel' of the stylus is only so so. I feel that the design could be a lot better if the black part was made of rubber which not only provides grip and support but also comfort. This is especially important if you use the pen for a long period of time.

The packing makes it look cheap. A quality pen would come in a case or something. Even some el cheapo pens that cost a lot less than the Trio-1 come with solid cases. As such, this pen does not make a good gift choice, if you know what I mean. :)

About the grip, I hate to disagree with Ken but I think it's rubber. I wasn't sure initially but it appears to be a very thin layer of rubber. That's probably why it doesn't feel like rubber coating. I agree with Ken that it doesn't really provide much grip or comfort.
