The Audio Enhancer Pack

Like all ANR headphones, the Noisebuster Extreme! needs battery power and electronics to work its magic. And as per norms, it comes with an attached control unit that stores the electronics and the batteries that power the headphones. Check out this picture of what NCT calls the Noisebuster's Audio Enhancer Pack :-

As you can see, there are quite a few controls on this control unit. There's the ever present power switch which turns the unit on or off. The headphone jack is also there for the headphone interface cable. What's unique about the Noisebuster Extreme!'s Audio Enhancer Pack is that it comes with a mode selector switch as well as a VariActive slider. What are they for?

The mode selector switch allows you to optimize the Noisebuster's performance for use with portable audio devices or with in-flight sound system. The VariActive slider, on the other hand, allows you to adjust the amount of active noise cancellation from a minimum of 8dB to a maximum of 15dB.

Flip the Audio Enhancer Pack around and you will get access to the battery compartment. It's just a thin piece of plastic. There's a piece of ribbon in the battery compartment that allows you to easily remove the batteries.

Incidentally, the belt clip you see is detachable. By squeezing its attachment point, you can easily remove it for a smaller profile. NCT also suggests that you can remove the clip for the attachment of the pack to your portable audio device using a piece of velcro.
