What You Get In The Box

The sample unit we received was not an OEM unit but the retail unit. So, what we have is exactly what you'll get when you buy it. In the box, you will get the following items :-

• One Quick Installation guide
• One CD Audio Cable
• Four screws
• One bundled Ahead Nero Burning ROM software CD
• One LITE-ON 74 mins/650MB 4x-10x CD-RW disk
• One LITE-ON 16x10x40x BURN-Proof CD-RW drive

Now, you may thinking... "What? No manuals or DOS drivers?!" Well... that was what I thought at first. Until I explored the bundled Nero Burning ROM CD.

Here, you'll notice that the manual is actually inside the CD-ROM itself. The manual comes in 10 languages - Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. While this was probably done to save on printing costs, I personally think that it is a step backwards. I feel that most people  would actually prefer to have their manuals in print, especially if it is to be used to troubleshoot the drive.

The DOS drivers were also included in the CD-ROM.

The CD-ROM also comes with Nero Burning ROM 5.0 - the OEM version. It's the same as the full version and you can upgrade to the latest version by downloading patches from Ahead's official website.
