CPU Cooler Roundup

Taisol CGK742092

A relatively new player in PC cooling industry, Taisol was founded in 1997. This heatsink, commonly known as the Taisol 1.3GHz in Malaysia, is rated for use with Socket 370 and Socket A processors up to 1.3GHz. In fact, this is the standard cooler for AMD Athlon 1.3GHz processors, if I'm not mistaken.

The bottom of the heatsink is flat but while I was trying to remove the included thermal tape, I accidentally scratched the heatsink. So, I had to lap it myself. BTW, this cooler's clip actually uses all the six tabs on the Socket A and four tabs on the Socket 370! A good cooler to use if you accidentally broke the middle tab on your CPU socket.

The fan is thin but pushes a reasonable amount of air. Still, it is underpowered for most overclockers. The clip is fairly tight and will require a small screwdriver to install the cooler.
