Global WIN FOP38

Global WIN has been in the PC cooler market for a very long time, even earlier than Alpha. I still remember my old VEK32 (SECC 1 cooler) which was the king of the hill when I bought it from Coolerguys, one of the early online stores that sold such coolers. Those guys were really good. They were really friendly and gave me some really good deals. I still remember some of them complaining about the noise of the YS Tech 27CFM fan on the VEK32.

Well, the Delta 'Black Label' fan powers this FOP38 and what a the SCREAMER!!! This fan is LOUD!!! I MEAN LOUD!!! I've never heard any fan as loud as this one. It's so loud that there is no way I can sleep with it running, especially with the casing left open. I can even hear this fan scream from 10 meters (30 ft.) away!

In addition, I'm really disappointed that the bottom isn't smooth at all. Even my old VEK32 is smoother. Lapping is definitely required but was not done in this review for obvious reasons. The fins look glossier than in the WBK models but I don't think it will affect its performance much.

While most reviewers complained about how bad the clip is, some of them actually used their hands to install the cooler, which is crazy in my opinion. Those who actually did that should visit Global WIN's website. The AMD recommended clamp force is unusually high.
