The Arctic Alumina comes in a white tube, just like the
Arctic Silver II. So, it has the same problem with the ejection of
the thermal compound. You just can't control the ejection properly
which is quite annoying.
However, it does not feel as thick as the Arctic Silver. As a
result, it spreads easily on the processor die. I used an expired
credit card to spread out the thermal compound.


As you can see from the picture above, a home-made shim was used
during the tests to avoid additional chipping of the processor die. |
