How To Configure Your Explorer Shortcut

 






Different Directory With Folders Bar
  1. Right-click on the Windows Explorer shortcut and select Properties.
     
  2. The following screen pops up :-

  1. In the Target box, add /e,directory path. In this example, the main directory of drive C: is selected. (as shown below)

  1. Now, click OK and then try out the shortcut.
     
  2. Windows Explorer should now show the contents of the main directory of drive C: with the folders bar visible on the left.

 

Notes
  • You need not select only a drive. You can also set Windows Explorer to open up in a directory like C:\DOCS
     
  • Remember to add a comma before each extra command. In this example, a comma is added before the directory path.
