Folder Option Method
Here's how you can
get the Windows Explorer to appear in any directory you want...
instantly!
- Open up Windows Explorer and select Folders Options...,
which is under the Tools menu.

- In the Folders Options screen, select the File Types
tab.
- Go down the list of file types and look for the Folder file
type. It's grouped with the other file types with the
extension of N/A.

- Once you find it, select it and click on the Advanced
button and the screen below will pop up.

- Now, click on the New... button.

- In the new screen, type in as shown above although you can
substitute Explore from here with
any name you fancy. Here's the important text for you
to cut and paste - explorer.exe /e,/root,%1
- Click OK and the Edit File Type screen should now
show the new action.

- Clear all remaining screens and try out the new action.

- Here's what happened when I clicked on the Explore from
here option with the Reviews directory selected :-

- Instantly, a new Explorer window opened up with the Reviews
folder set as the root folder. From there on, I can navigate
the Reviews folder and its subfolders in this new Explorer
window although I can't go above the Reviews folder.
Notes
- This Explore from here option will only allow you to
navigate the folder you have chosen and its subdirectory.
- However, you will not be able to navigate above the
folder you have selected.
- The Explore option that's available by default when you
right-click on any directory will also allow you to open up a
new Explorer window with focus on that directory. But
navigation is not restricted to just the folder and its
subfolders. You can go above the folder you have selected.
