Command Prompt In Any Directory

Removing The Command Prompt Option (Folders Option Method)

In case you want to remove the command prompt option which you have already entered into the registry using the Folders Option method, here's how to go about it :-

  1. Open up Registry Editor and go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell branch.

  2. There, you will find a folder named View In DOS among other folders.

  1. Delete the entire folder (which will remove the command subfolder as well).

  2. Now, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Folder\shell.

  3. There, you will find the same View In DOS folder.

  1. Again, delete the entire View In DOS folder.

  2. Close the Registry Editor and reboot the computer. The View In DOS option will no longer appear when you right-click on a folder.
