- Under Interfaces, you should see several branches (as
shown above).
- Select the first and look for a DWORD key called EnableDHCP.

- If it has a value of 1, double-click it and the
following screen will appear.

- Now, change the value to 0 and click OK.

- The EnableDHCP key should now show 0 as its
value.

- Repeat the steps above for all the other branches under Interfaces.
- In addition to disabling DHCP in those branches, you
should also disable DHCP in another couple of branches.
- Go back to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services.
- Examine the top branches under Services (those
above Abiosdsk).
- There should be at least two branches with {number-letter
sequence} as its name.
- Under those branches, look for a sub-branch called Tcpip
(see below).

- You should see the same EnableDHCP key in the Tcpip
branch.

- Follow Steps 5 and 6 to change the value
from 1 to 0.
- The EnableDHCP key should now show 0 as its
value.

- Repeat this for each and every iteration of the {number-letter
sequence} under the Services branch.

Notes
- This tip will only work if you are using a connection that
does not require DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol).
- If you are using Automatic IP or DNS configuration, then you
are using DHCP and should not disable DHCP.
