Casio Cassiopeia CompactFlash To PCMCIA
Slot Converter Guide

Theory

Theoretically, it's possible to make one. But first, let's take a look at the PCMCIA white paper (www.pc-card.com/pccardstandard.htm) and the PDF file for the CompactFlash standard (http://www.ssti.com/products/48cfxxx.html).

Obviously, the CompactFlash connector has fewer contacts than a PC card but the required contacts are there. This indicates that building a PCMCIA to CF slot converter is possible.

It will work like Ultra SCSI 2 or FAST SCSI but the data width is halved. So, the data transfer rate will be about half but it will still functional. The PC card and CompactFlash pins are listed in the table below :-

Editor : From what I understand, you should match the CompactFlash pins with the appropriate PCMCIA pins in order for the connector to work. Use the table above as a guide when you connect the appropriate pins together.
