About Marauder

Who's Marauder?

Hi there, welcome to my five minutes of fame page.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My real name is Chan Wei Min but online, I usually go by the nick Marauder. It's a long story about how I came to use that nick but one thing's for sure, it's got nothing to do with Mechwarrior.

My day job is as a programmer specializing in Windows-based, front-end related stuff. In plain English, I work to create web pages that showcase the features of IE6 to the extremes as well as work with other client devices such as WAP Phones and Pocket PCs.

Because my employer is a Microsoft Certified Solution Provider, I almost always use Microsoft products in my solutions. But then again, I already possess a bias towards anything MS makes. Most of their stuff, I either like or am indifferent about. The only MS software that I hate with extreme prejudice is FrontPage. Don't ask me why but it just never seem to work well for me.

Unfortunately, my job takes up a lot of my time and sometimes I have to work throughout the day. So, I don't have as much time as I like to write articles for ARP. Sorry Adrian! ;)

This brings us to my area of interest - I'm a gadget freak! :) While other people like Chai like to benchmark their computers and tweak and overclock their systems to the max, I, on the other hand, just gotta have that cool gadget!!!

So, expect reviews from me to be more gadget-oriented like Pocket PCs, mouse pads, mice, keyboards, joysticks, etc, etc... Rarely will I do a system review because that's just not my cup of tea.

Well, I don't quite know how to write stuff like this so I'll just end it here. If you ever see someone dancing on an EZ2Dancer machine in Sungai Wang Plaza with a FlipOut on his belt and performing poorly, that'd be me. Just walk up and say hi! :)

Quick Facts About Myself

  • Would kill for a jacket with a large IE logo on the back!
  • Considers the Playstation 2 as media hype!
  • Will never endorse a Palm powered device in good heart!
